I know! It was awesome that way. Using a movie-specific name for different movies was fun (Stalin did that best). Popping in and being sly and anonymous (but respectful and not weird) was fun. It was almost always laid back. Sucks that this has to happen, but if it does, it does, I guess.

Can we still watch without logging in at all? A lot of times, I’d watch a movie and read the chat without even using a guest account. Obviously couldn’t join the conversation, just lurk. I’d imagine that still is the same.

I already have QuietCupcake registered with hextube even if I rarely used it. If that won’t work anymore then yes, please just use my name here for the account mods, thanks.

It really reminded me of old internet where you could just type in a user name with no fuss. But I understand why this is happening and support it. Still mad at that dipshits that made this necessary.

That’s not what I meant though. Before, you didn’t have to log in even with a guest account to just observe. The page loaded and the video+chat were already going. Maybe that technically counts as being on a guest account, I don’t know, but while just observing you couldn’t participate in the chat until you entered in a guest name, which is what I would expect would constitute a guest account.

It was nice to be able just to load the page and see what was going on without having to log in or have your presence registered at all, though obviously also not having the ability to interact in any way, even as a guest. But I see that that is gone now too. I am constantly losing my connection with the shitty barely functional internet access I have, and “QuietCupcake has joined” showing in the chat window every 2 minutes was annoying as hell for me and presumably at least slightly for everyone else too. This sucks and seems like overkill, but whatever.

So this is for watching stuff and chatting, not just managing a channel?
