Hi folks, we’re putting this thread up to track the known bugs and layout a roadmap of what features we are currently working on. We have some work ahead of us to bring us up to date with some large upstream API changes but we’re trying to make sure to squash as man bugs that affect user experience as possible.

Known Bugs

• Typing in and then clearing the URL box when making a post leads to an infinite spinner (Should be fixed)
• The Delete account button on your user page DOES NOT WORK, It will wipe all your posts and comment but it will not remove your account, your email will still be attached, the username perpetually claimed, you will still be able to log in. We’re working on it. for now, don’t delete your account unless you remove your email first and you just want to correct a username misspelling.
• Changing the default sorting setting in your user settings does not work (Fixed 2020-7-30)
• The auto-refresh will auto-scroll you to the top, a harder bug to squash than you would think
• The auto-refresh may delete effort posts and comments/replies made from your inbox,
• If a thread is long, a direct comment link gets broken and will just take you to the top of the post
• No 404 pages, you’ll just get a white box or an endless spinner
• Inconsistency between themes
• When on another users’ profile, there will be a “saved” tab that contains your saved posts

Planned Featured

• User Pronoun tags and flare (backend work is underway)
• Pinned comments.
• Sweeping UI design to bring us into more consistency (it’s been ongoing from the beginning but nowhere near complete)
  • Hexbear point icon anyone :p
• Better sorting and paging of comments and posts (UI speed up on large threads) (There is a proposal submitted upstream).
• Grouping of subscribed communities, better browsing of subsets of communities (Preliminary UI design)
• Return of inline images and avatars (once we fix the security concerns about leaking IPs and some bad exploits)
• A whole host of Moderator tools, we’re building a Gundam
• Better read indicators for posts and comments.

Researching

• Users have noted that the post score decay isn’t quite right for our community, we are inclined to agree. However, it’s a little early to tell, once the initial launch waves cools off we’ll be taking a look. For those interested, you can see the current post algorithm and how it works On Our Wiki
