The Germans are #StillWithHer

The fact that Scholz ever had any support at all was due to him somehow being the least off-putting option to the average German before the last election, which was basically a three-way battle between him, Annalena Baerbock from the Greens who is now minister of foreign affairs, and Armin Laschet who is now back to his old self, being a man-sized talking potato. The 2021 election is the point where the graph sets in, if it would start earlier you could also see how the rise of Scholz to relative popularity coincided with the rightwing smear campaign against Baerbock and with how Baerbock and Laschet made complete asses out of themselves whenever they had the chance to speak in public. After people were no longer forced to see Scholz as the lesser evil, his complete robotic blandness turned from an asset into a liability and his popularity sank to levels slightly less abysmal than the SPD’s overall popularity.

I haven’t been following the ins and outs of everyday German politics much. But I would think that the cutting off of cheap Russian natural gas due to the war in Ukraine having caused both increased costs of living and an economic recession under his leadership is a major factor. But most politicians would have done the same and have taken the same hit if they were in charge.

At the end of Obama’s presidency Pew Research found 92% of Germans had a favorable view of him as president, two years after he had a scandal of spying on their government. Cucked people. (apparently 8% approved of Trump and, like 10 months ago, 67% of Biden)

The kicker is they’re the most smug about it too, even more so than Democrat libs in the states.

It doesn’t help that the US blew up their natural gas pipelines and is now shipping it to them at higher prices, which is wrecking their industrial production.

So have liberals done anything to address their platform of “we have to make sacrifices to ensure Ukraine’s victory thus saving democracy”?

Because it seems like liberals everywhere are just insisting the economy is fine and calling their own voters stupid for saying they’re poor and hungry. They’re just letting the far right gain power then complain about tankies or east Germany or FSB agents or some shit
