They’re not even doing the minimum to satisfy their voters, to play their role. Obama came out and said he’s a conservative last week ffs.

It’s out of fear of upsetting the radicalised, armed half of the population. Fear of conflict and of chaos. They understand that fomenting chaos is in the interest of the republicans (it’s also in the interest of the US globally), to further militarise the state apparatus, cement the status quo and prevent what we would probably agree is progress.
