On this day in 1921, the Tulsa Race Massacre began when mobs of white people attacked black residents and businesses of the Greenwood District, known as “Black Wall Street”, killing hundreds of black people and making thousands homeless.

Scott Ellsworth called it “the single worst incident of racial violence in American history”, with estimates ranging from 75-300 people killed, 800 wounded, and 10,000 black families made homeless from the destruction of property.

The massacre began over Memorial Day weekend after 19-year-old Dick Rowland, a black shoeshiner, was accused of assaulting Sarah Page, the 17-year-old white elevator operator of the nearby Drexel Building.

An armed group of black men showed up to the jail to counter the lynch mob had been formed, and shots rang out as a white member of the mob tried to disarm one of the black men. The initial violence left ten people dead, and a mob of enraged white people stormed black neighborhoods, indiscriminately killing people and destroying property.

For 75 years (until 1996), the massacre was almost totally omitted from local, state, and national histories. It was not recognized in the Tulsa Tribune feature of “Fifteen Years Ago Today” or “Twenty-Five Years Ago Today”, and a 2017 report detailing the history of the Tulsa Fire Department from 1897 until the date of publication made no mention of the 1921 fire.

Okay first the winners then answer and then new problems.

The winners are :rat-salute: @femboy and @QuillcrestFalconer . Everyone salute these two instead of the troops.

Previous answer

Initially A 4n, B 7n, C 13n

After 1st step A 8n, B 14n, C 2n

After 2nd step A 16n, B 4n, C 4n

After 3rd step A 8n, B 8n, C 8n

After the third step, each has twice as many as A had initially. The rest is clear.

A Mushroom Incident

Marusya, Kolya, Vanya, Andryusha, and Petya went looking for mushrooms. Only Marusya took her search seriously. The four boys spent most of their time lying in the grass and telling stories. When it was time to return, Marusya had 45 mushrooms and the boys had none. Marusya was sympathetic. “It won’t look good for you boys when we get back to the camp.” She gave each boy some mushrooms, leaving none for herself. On the way back, Kolya found 2 mushrooms and Andryusha doubled the number of the mushrooms he already had. But Vanya and Petya fooled around all the way. As a result, Vanya lost 2 mushrooms and Petya lost half his mushrooms. At camp they counted up and each boy had the same number of mushrooms.

How many mushrooms did Marusya give each boy?

Ngl some mushrooms would it the spot rn 😋 any way good luck and hope everyones has a good day. :soviet-heart: and dm the handsome and smart @Wmill.

“You see comrade, communism is against porn. And that is why it’s ok for me to say misogynist shit about a porn star that would be indistinguishable from any other chudosphere comment.”

I can immediately tell people like that have never been with a woman and that they believe that is everyone else’s fault.

Lol fr.

They frustrate the shit out of me especially bc I have sex worker friends that I already know are 1000x more based than they are.

They don’t give a shit about Marxism or (sex) work(ers). It’s just a stupid ass ideological (sniff) move to feel superior to other leftist by stanning this weird Puritanism but woke.

They hit me with a r/communism101 post lmao

I have no sympathy for them and view them as irritants at best or outright enemies at worst. Their frustration is reactionary and their despair is a demand.

Being against sex workers is just their rage that a woman owns the value of her labour. That labour is something they feel they have been denied. No one is entitled to a woman’s time or her body.

I report this when I see it here and everyone else should too.

Lol this happened on genzedong lmao

Someone made a misogynist, condescending ass comment about Mia khalifa and porn actresses in general, and I said sex work is work, got downvoted

He said basically what I said up there. I said you can hate the industry but still recognize sex workers as workers and he linked me to r/comunism101 lmao

It did and it was so bad, between that, the sexism and the rabid anti anarchist sectarianism, genzedong gotten really bad. Still somehow better than r/196, which is filled with v*ush fans, but only slightly.

and he linked me to r/comunism101 lmao.

Official Title of this Community: Ethnic Minorities and People of Color

Why is the title different?

We like to have fun here.

What is this place? A safe space for underrepresented peoples and peoples of color to talk, chill, and vibe.

What are the basic rules of the community?

  1. Follow Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines. Non negotiable. This is the bedrock and mods will make decisions with this always in mind.

  2. This community is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This is a safe space where such people can freely discuss their struggles, insight, and thoughts without fear. If you are not, we respectfully ask you do not post or comment here. A future community will be established to allow for racial discussions with a mixed userbase. However, remember, comments here must still respect Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines.

  3. Irony Racism is still racism. Racism is bad m’kay? We will treat irony racism and bad faith racist satire as racism. Will wield the ban hammer accordingly.

  4. No sectarianism: This is an identity channel not a channel for you all to complain about why XYZ isn’t the “one true leftism”. Take that to another place.

  5. Stupidpol is not allowed. Stupidpol is class reductionist. We are an identity community. Thinking like stupidpol ignores the struggles of the oppressed, their voices, and their need for unique support. Nothing says oppression more than someone saying that the identity you have is “not real” and that if you only thought like them you’d see what your “real” identity is. Mods reserve the right to ban users and content who promote stupidpol, stupidpol memes, and other class reductionist thinking.

FAQ

I don’t look XYZ and/or sometimes I can pass as white so I don’t know if I can post here. Can I?

  • This place is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This includes those of mixed heritage and those who may be “white” but are of an ethnicity that is a minority in their area (i.e. Kurds, etc) If you’ve experienced oppression due to your identity that is not based on sexual / gender identification, you are welcome here.

  • Moreover, for our American audience, we have people from around the world who are “white” but are oppressed due to being a minority in their country. They are and should be welcomed here.

What can I post?

  • Anything you think is relevant to the mission of this community. Things will evolve over time.
  • Topics and things relevant to EM and POC.
