The whole thing is so funky and it has such a strong uncanny valley AI vibe. Even the rug looks fake like it was created via AI art prompt that included defective bat signal pattern rug.

Before I downloaded it - I was clicking around and I somehow ended up googling a great white shark called Deep Blue. It’s one of the biggest great whites ever recorded. I guess that was the namesake for the movie.

Various videos show the shark as calm and non-aggressive around humans and even dolphins.

And then curiosity got the better of me and I checked out the Wikipedia page. I was surprised by the quality of the cast. And it was directed by Renny Harlin so I hoped it would be enjoyable slop.

In a coincidence - last night I watched Deep Blue Sea (1). It’s my favorite kind of so-bad-it’s-good movie: a big budget, a cast with some surprisingly talented lead actors, and it was totally ridiculous.
