I believe that most South American leftists like Evo. He was one of the main leaders during the so-called Bolivian Gas War in the 2000s, which was basically a left-wing revolution against the neoliberal governments of Bolivia and resulted in the election of Evo, who at the time was allied with a group of leftists.

After the coup and the election of Arce, Evo wanted to go back to Arce and control his government, which didn’t please Arce. While Evo represents a more radical faction within the MAS party, Arce represents a more social-democratic faction. I believe that Arce is very close to Lula da Silva, he even speaks Portuguese. The problem with this split is that Evo is still popular, and what he’s doing is basically allying himself with far-right Bolivians and people like Milei, who attack Arce.
Also, Álvaro García Linera was the leader of a communist guerrilla group. He didn’t even say anything bad about Evo, he basically said that Evo and Arce should stop fighting and get back together. That way, the right will have no chance of winning an election.
