Well me, I’m a waitress. If my coworkers don’t wanna work I tell them to take the cut and go home, then I stay and make more money. And while they’re there, if they wanna hide in the back instead of monitoring the floor, well, I shark their tables. Gotta work to make money, honey.

Yeah, about five minutes ago. It happens. I’d rather extend trust and sometimes be disappointed than live in paranoia.

Yes, that sounds better. I didn’t mean to imply there are no problems with fiat currency, only that scarcity wasn’t one I’d heard argued.

Shattered is a little baroque for me. The original was rooted in simplicity, and I think Shattered, while trying to fix the few flaws of vanilla, goes too far in the other direction.

Why would I assume the title is accurate? I’ve never heard this criticism of fiat currency before, since the whole point is that it doesn’t rely on on scarcity but on the stability of the issuing body. Can you explain, or is that outside the scope of this thread?

Yes, but it requires moving away from the automobile as the primary form of transit, and shifting the balance of labor relations more towards workers. The main antagonist of extended families is the expectation that skilled workers relocate for jobs.

If all punishment is capital punishment, then I’d keep it as laissez-faire as possible.

Except for β€œno parking in the bike lane”. That one’s worth.
