2.9 billion records, including Social Security numbers, stolen in data hack:

The class-action law firm Schubert, Jonckheer & Kolbe said in a news release that the stolen file includes 277.1 gigabytes of data, and includes names, address histories, relatives and Social Security numbers dating back at least three decades.

According to a post from a cybersecurity expert on X, formerly Twitter, USDoD  claims to be selling the 2.9 billion records for citizens of the U.S., U.K. and Canada on the dark web for $3.5 million.

Since the information was posted for sale in April, others have released different copies of the data, according to the cybersecurity and technology news site Bleeping Computer.

A hacker known as “Fenice” leaked the most complete version of the data for free on a forum in August, Bleeping Computer reported. introduce a little anarchy. … or someone didn’t pay the ransom.

Why are we just finding this out now when they knew about it for 8 months?!

So their gambit has is try to take land for a leveraged peace deal to get Crimea back or something or attempt to “bulkanize” Russia. It isn’t going to go that way. Russia will cut off will have less to work with, less leverage at the negotating table, more demoralized population at the loss, and an even more emboldened Russian population.

The brazen idiocy of whoever is leading these poor bastards.

Winter is coming.

My dad who is retired, but not 65 on a fixed income just went to the “community pharmacy” and spent only a couple dollars per prescription. Like 1/10th of generics cost. Saved him $150. Then he blamed all our money going to the ‘illegal’ immigrants because that’s who the main clientele are there.

I was like we could all have something like that if we wanted but people insist on keep insisting that’s some form of evil and a trillion dollar blowing the world up every year is more important.
