my dumbass got locked up in 04 right in the middle of college (i was on a break but almost finished)… never got to feel the 08 hurt. i fucking hate my job but i guess grocery store lower managerment is recession proof. i feel for all my comrades right now though. i want everyone to be free of this cycle forever

you sound like me a bit. left liberal since i was a tiny one, maybe leaning towards a vague libertarianess. grandfather was a new dealer (family was tight with FDR admin during/post WW2), mom was a lib, etc. I got locked up for possession and felonized basically ending my life (literally and figuratively, i only kept the felony because i tried to kill myself via deliberate OD and was arrested a 2nd time on the way home to do it). when i got out i became a right libertarian because it was the only ideology that seemed to say i didn’t deserve what i got. liberals kept telling me i made a personal choice or deserved it, cons told me i was scum.

When i was locked up I read a lot, we had a decent library and a cool trekkie librarian who I found lost books for in exchange for being able to check out extra. i read the entire kim stanley robinsson mars trilogy and got a taste of real leftism and how it could work (even if sci/fi). so i just called myself a left libertarian after that not knowing what it was.

Unfortunately I also got tugged towards the sargon, anti-sjw BS until I realized it was filling with fash and got grossed out. my partner she found lefttube and we started re-educating ourselves. chapo came later and finally pulled me towards legit socialism. my partner is a demsoc/green socialist and I am somewhere in between actual marxist/leninist and libertarian socialism. Centrist marxism or something? So just like you I’d say like you i’m also just a Marxist with ML tendencies. I think technology can solve many of the problems that plagued ML nations back then and believe if the revolution could come to a powerful country like the U.S. the siege mentality might not tilt it into paranoia and authoritarianism like the soviet union, cuba, vietnam, etc.

supercells are so fucking awe inspiring and scary at the same time. and then this one’s got a nice rain wrapped wedge tornado hidden inside it. for some really chill, almost ASMR-like storm chasing check out Pecos Hank. No yelling, and the guy’s more artist then chaser and it really shows in his shots and videos.

my violent, revenge driven side says “right on!” but the other part of me so fears that people will just have those labels slapped on them by people in power for any number of dumb, petty reasons and we’ll have gulags filled with victims of political drama mixed in with those actually deserving

wasn’t the CIA and the U.S. in general heavily involved and supportive of them too? makes sense the U.S. would encourage a sort of ultra-perverted socialism to serve as a client state

i got my first grapevine a week ago. i haven’t set up a place for it yet so i have it next to my potted herbs. lately i’ve had grasshoppers or something just devouring my basil, grapevine, and strawberry (not my savory or oregano). i finally said fuck it and got some Sevin spray which seems like a real bad thing even though it worked. Any better suggestions for protecting them?
