So, you didn’t look it up. USA ‘V girls’ were 100% volunteer.

George H.W. Bush called Reagan’s plan ‘voo doo’ economics when he ran against Reagan in the 1980 primaries. Changed his tune when reagan offered him the Veep spot.

I talk about the real cost of living all the time.

1960 minimum wage was $1.00/hour and the cost of the average house was $11,000.00. Cost of the average house today is over $300,000.00. Minimum wage should be $30.00/hour, right?

Think about it. In the 1950’s, a lot of people couldn’t afford a radio. Reading was the only way to entertain yourself at home. There were plenty of dime novels and pulps. Schools might not have had things like microscopes, but even the worst places could buy books the other schools were getting rid of.

The pet store litter box is $30.00 and the plastic is 3mm thick.

Shipping box from Home Depot is $10.00, make of Kevlar, and twice as big.

You hold your nose and vote for the D.

Then you go out and work for good candidates in the D primaries.

Third party candidates only help the GOP. Anderson in 1980, and Nader in 2000. The GOP was pouring money to the Greens and Libertarians in 2016.

Japan’s Holocaust was as bad as the Nazi’s. They were killing, raping, mutilating, and enslaving millions of Chinese, Burmese, Korean, Vietnamese, and other peoples on a daily basis. Every extra day the Japanese empire was in power was another day of hell for millions of innocent people. Japan’s rulers know the War was lost after Germany fell. They were happy to keep the killing going.

You say there were ‘options,’ yet somehow managed to avoid actually naming them.

What would you tell the Koreans/Chinese/Burmese whose families died while the negotiations stretched out?

Like what, exactly?

Remember two things. First were the Asian peoples who were being slaughtered by the Empire. Why should they go on suffering one extra day? The other is that Truman had an obligation to protect American lives; that was his sworn duty. Why should he allow any US service men to die to protect the lives fo Japaense?
